Midlothian, Texas New Home Open House - Sunday May 11, 1:00pm to 6:00pm - $228,990

3,209 sq ft of Pure Excitement... and on the inside it looks even larger.  The first floor features an incredible formal living and dining on either side of the entry foyer, and then opens into a fabulous family room with a back "wall of windows."

The family room is two stories high, and also features a two-story stone fireplace with raised stone hearth and wood mantle.

The family room is also open from the catwalk on the second floor above... which connects the two bedrooms and full bath on one side, and the game room in the middle of the second floor.

An additional bedroom, and a separate media room are at the far end of the catwalk... which again overlooks the family room below.  What a great area for entertaining.

This floor also makes a great teen-suite... if that suits your family makeup.

The kitchen is definitely for the gourmet.  Granite counter-tops, forty-two inch raised panel cabinets, high ceilings, a pass-thru bar to the family room, a huge walk-in pantry, and a family-sized work-island complete the gourmet feel.

Pricing... with all the above included features, and of course, including the building lot itself (unless you pick an oversized or premium lot)... the price is $228,990.

Directions:  From the intersection of I-360 and I-20 in the Arlington/Grand Prairie area, take 360 south to where it dead-ends into 287.  Turn left (east) on 287, continue to passing under the Rt 67 bridge.  Take the next exit, and at the stop sign, turn left.  Follow about one mile to the stop light just past the high school on your right.  Turn left, and proceed about one and one-half miles to the open house on your left.  Please ask for your host, Jason Dickens.  Mention me... Karen Anne Stone... and get extra freebies with your purchase !

Good grief!  I just can't get used to the prices down there!  It sounds like a terrific house!  Bet it flies off the shelf!

Hi Patricia:  Although this is a great home, and a good value, it is just typical for this area.  The design of this home is really powerful and appealing, which of course helps it's marketability.

Just out of curiosity, what would a home like this sell for in Fairfax or Alexandria ?  Any clue ?  Thanks, and take care.

I LOVE the view from above Karen-Anne.  When you say "cat walk" do you mean "balcony" or a narrow corridor with empty space on either side??? Catwalk almost sounds dangerous.  GREAT PICTURE THOUGH!

Karen Anne.....another gorgeous listing at an affordable price.

Ruthmarie:  The catwalk is like an open hallway with railings on either side... front and back.  The front railing looks down into the curved stairway coming upstairs.  The back railing is the one looking into the downstairs family room shown in this picture.  The catwalk connects some bedrooms and a game room on the left side of the home, and another bedroom, bath and the media room on the right side of the home.

Karen Anne - first I've heard of catwalks, too.  This looks like a beautiful home - here it would be twice as much on 1/6 of an acre!

Virginia:  I don't know where I got the term "catwalk..." it's just something I have always used.  This home is probably on a 1/6 of an acre... perhaps 1/5... but no latger than that.  Thanks for your kind comments... take care...

Karen Anne, this is gorgeous, I am always amazed at what your prices are for homes in Ft Worth. You are fortunate to live where you can get such beautiful homes for that price.

WOW! Don't even ask the list price for that property if it was located here.

Karen Anne , I can't get over the prices in your area - This home is at least double here in NH. I love your picture of the family room.

KAREN ANNE, It looks like a lovely home and I hope you have a wonderful open house.

Jan:  Not to worry... you were dizzy before you got up on the catwalk... LOL.  And yes, I had fun hanging over the edge of the railing taking that picture... but... whatever it takes... right ?

Marchel:  Thanks so much.  I think the open will go well.  I would love to see this, though, on one of those secluded, treed lots you've got all over Spring, Texas.

Kay:  I think so, too.  Thanks so much for your kind wishes, and for your comment, too.  Take care... hope you are well.  :)

Missy:  Thanks so much for your kind words.  But... down here in Fort Worth we miss so much of what you have in Ann Arbor... snow, snow tires, rock salt, snow blowers, scraping the inside of the car windows... getting stuck in snow drifts... all the many things I enjoyed when I lived near Cleveland.  Take care...

Rosario:  I am going to guess perhaps about $800,000 or so ?  Am I anywhere close?

Judy:  Thanks for your kind comments about the picture.  I had fun hanging over the edge of the railing taking it.  I was fine, but the folks there with me who were watching... well they were fairly nervous... LOL.
