Nature's Most Perfect Food... !

There I was... finally I was all set to be such a perfect little girl.  I have been wanting to lose weight for about thirty-five years or so... give or take...

Then... a few days ago... I must have been inspired.  Yes... the Spirit was moving me... finally.  I resolved, I wrote it down in my personal journal.  I called friends to tell them of my new-found resolve to get back on the wagon... back to the straight-and-narrow path of eating right... eating healthy... eating sensible.

And then it happened.  Today happened.  Reality... happened !

I left home this morning for my regular Saturday morning event... getting my hair done with Carol Eller at Shelton's Salon and Day Spa.  By ten-thirty I was "done"... so to speak... and "on the road."  First, I stopped for gas... such a bargain at $3.47 a gallon.  Bye bye $38.00.

Then, two showings on my latest listing... the cute little one for $117,900 on Willowick Avenue.  It's a good thing I was going to be about an hour early, because this little funny yellow button on my Honda CR-V lit up.  It showed "low tire pressure."

I got out to take a look... and it wasn't as bad as I feared.  It was only flat on the BOTTOM !  I was still at the gas station, so I filled it up with air, and then off to NTB to get it fixed.  They were in a good mood, cuz they fixed it FREE.

Then, the two showings, they went well... but no contracts yet... mayber tomorrow.  Then, off to visit my builders, stirring the pot for referral listings, then a trip over to McKinney to look at a possible new listing, and then a trip of about thirty-five miles down to view this gorgeous new home in Midlothian... the one with the three car garage.

The point of all of this is... I finally got home tonight at about 8:30pm... exhausted and starving.  Diet ?  What diet !  It was time for Domino's to save the day.  Nature's Most Perfect Food... A Pepperoni-Lovers Pizza.  Something from all five of the major food groups... cheese, pepperoni, pizza dough, tomato sauce, and onions.  There... got all five covered... wow, was it good !

Very funny Karen!  You should try the South Beach pizzas; they aren't bad and have lots of protein.  Protein is the key word.  You are in one of my favorite areas as I adore cowboys!

Hi Susie:  We are both up pretty late.  It must be that pizza I am still eating.  Yikes.  Oh... you mean the South Beach Diet pizzas !  I'll have to try one.  And... the Cowboy's brand new stadium is more than half finished.  I believe it will be ready by far... and in time for the 2009 football season.

Me... give me a nice cowgirl any day of the week.  We could spend the whole day shopping !  Most of these doggone cowboys... the real cowboys... haven't seen a shower in weeks.  Whew !  LOL.

Susie:  By the way, I just read your profile, and checked out your Tomato Blog... www.buckingtherealestatetrend.com .  It is fabulous... really great !  How long have you had it going, and who did you have at Tomato helping You ?  Also... who was your designer ?  I am just starting to talk to them... just had the first design interview last week.  What a struggle.

Oh, Karen this is a riot.  Who on earth wants to cook something healthy after a long day?  Fugggedaboutit.  Dominos delivers and there's no dishes to wash.  How perfect is that?

Subscribe to Weight Watchers. There meals are tasty and quick. It keeps you on track and can be carried around in a small soft cooler for lunch. I have lost 12 ponds in 3 weeks and I still eat more than enough that Im not hungry. Now 8 more pounds and its back to Dominos!

I love Domino's, haven't had any in 2 months, I got back on the wagon too. Too much blogging added weight. I am keeping vegetables and fruit in the house and lo carb snack bars in the car. When your out all day it is so easy to call pizza, tired, hungary and don't want to cook.

Karen,  Why did you have to tempt me with that picture?  That looks like a really good pizza.  Of course, my wife is wanting pork chops for dinner and we don't get delivery out my way.  Man pizza sounds too good for dinner tonight.  I am not happy with you for posting that picture right now but, I will get over it.

Cold pizza the morning after it's delivered sounds fine to me..I like it when the cheese congeals until it's the texture of low-density polyethylene..

we don't need no stinkin diets!  lol.  that's funny.  but how true, we run out of time to be good.  : )  the rabbits eat better than me on the organic produce, while i grab whatever's easier!

Posted by Chris Fisher (Your Virtual Assistant) over 10 years ago

But Eric:  If you use just the right brand of pizza sauce, and bury that lovely congealed cheese in it, that low-density polyethylene-like cheese will veritably spring back to life.  It works on tub and shower caulk, too.  :)

By the way, Eric... when I read your comment... I don't think I can remember laughing that hard... not in quite a while.  That should tell you someting about my sense of humor, huh ?

Sarah:  I wonder if I worked at a Domino's if I would ever get tired of pizza.  I remember once I sold a home to a guy who drove a delivery truck that delivered Twinkies.  I told him that I loved Twinkies, and he brought me a gift the next time he came into my sales office... an entire carton of Twinkies... it contained 32 individually-wrapped Twinkies.  Of course, I ate every one of them... and got so sick of them that I didn't touch another one for about a year.  Take care...

Carol:  Of course Pizza is a basic food group.  That's what I need to remember... "guiltless pizza."  That'll make it taste even better.

One of my all-time favorite pizza places is in Cleveland... University Heights next to John Carroll University, to be exact.  A place called Geraci's.  One of the best home-made pizza places I have ever been to.  I went there often while I was in college at John Carroll.  If you're ever in Cleveland, give it a try.

Hi Karen Anne...what a fantastic post.  I am salivating just looking at the picture of that pizza.  I am having withdrawl, it has been over a month and I was doing fine until I read this post.  The details are not really relevent, but 5 weeks ago the doctor gave me 3 months to lose 20 lbs. (I beleive she ended her instructions with "or else").  Anyhow, I made a radical shift in diet and have so far lost 11 lbs.

Basically the rules of this diet are that if it tastes remotely good or the effect of eating it is remotely satisfying I am not allowed to eat it.  It has been 5 months of no Pizza, no Mexican food involving guacamole, sour cream or cheese, no chicken fried ANYTHING... actually nothing fried period.  All I can say is I have eaten enough lettuce to cover Central Park, enough grilled chicken that I think my razor had a feather caught in it today and enough grapefruit that I now have influence with the Florida Citrus folks (in case they ever try to subject us to Anita Bryant again).  Did I mention how good that picture of the Pizza looks?  Yum!

I wonder if I still have Domino's on speed dial???

Little Caesars sells "Hot and Ready" pizzas for $5 each. We usually have them on Friday nights. You have a choice of cheese or pepperoni pizza and for $3 more you can get the supreme.

Three years ago I stopped eating pork for health reasons. My husband joined the "no pork club" about 3 months ago and stopped getting diet coke. His weight 3 months ago was 287. It is now 262 and slowly dropping. He lost weight real fast on a diet he was on a couple of years ago but he gained it all back because it wasn't realistic. We still eat out. We just eat different things and it has made a big difference.

Becoming somewhat of an expert on the subject lately after writing about going to the gym, I have found the true meaning of diets.

D - Do
I   - I
E - Eat
T - Tasty
S - Stuff

and the answer is always, you bet...You only live once! I can die eating stuff that tastes like crap and I hate to eat and maybe live 2 years longer with bad knees and a bad back or I can eat what is tasty and maybe live just as long, but enjoy the ride!
