How 'Bout some Cuteness for New Year's Eve...

Yeah... I know.  My last post was quite the bummer... talking about what New Year's Eve meant to me, and the baggage I carry around concerning it.

Some days I think I should trundle over to Southwest Airlines and try and hire a baggage handler so I don't hurt myself with all that blasted baggage.

But... occasionally things happen that lighten the baggage load.

In fact... I just found something that does just that.

It is so cute, so sweet, and such a treat... that I wanted to share it with you.

I stumbled upon this just a few minutes ago.  It's a duet... with Zooey Deschanel (who I think is just adorable) and some young dude named Joe Gordon-Levitt (I have no clue who he is.)

I also had no clue that Zooey could sing... but she surprised me.  She is also playing the ukulele... which, when I first saw it, I thought was going to be really dorky.  Au contraire.  Miss Deschanel does a great job with it.

And... these two can sing.  Really great harmonies, too.  I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.

Ahhhh... I feel better, now.

I love this. She has a great voice. I've been watching Zooey on her new sitcom, The New Girl" and she plays such a quirky personality. All the best to you, Karen Anne, in 20012.

Russell:  How cool that your daughter took you to the concert.  I bet the two of you made quite the couple.  (smile)  I will have to Google them, or do a YouTube search and see if I can find more of their stuff.  She & Him... thanks for the info.

We all have a ton of baggage the million dollar question is how long do we want to drag it behind us?  As for me my back hurts, I'm done.

Very, very nice end to 2011, this sweet little duet.  I'm sorry for the baggage in your life, 'twud be so nice if we could permanently "chuck" it.  I was previously married twice and can't really be sure which one hurt worse...and painful reminders around holiday time certainly tend to make old hurts seem new.  There's a lot of Christmas carols I just can't handle.  As always, admire your transparency and thoughtful posts.  The real you.  Wishing you the best in 2012, Karen Ann.

Karen - this was a huge hit on youtube with a gazillion or so hits.   Zooey and Joseph are long time friends and I'll put in my two cents in recommending a movie they did together -- 500 Days of Summer -- excellent story and a good soundtrack.   Also, 50/50 has gotten some very good reviews for Joseph ---- a funny movie about a very serious subject -- cancer.

Happy New Year -- May 2012 bring you continued success, good health and much happiness!

A new year to make New memories. When are you coming to visit the East Coast?  Oh what a fun gathering we could have.

Ellie:  New memories would be great.  Even sitting in a rocking chair with a glass of white zin, just knowing that I was sitting in the great state of Maryland instead of in The People's Republic of Texas... LOL.  How much I long for a nice yummy plate of crab cakes.  Oh, be still my growling tummy.

Dorie:  Thanks so much.  This really brought a smile to my Tuesday morning face.  What a nice surprise.  Also, I have had several wonderful Rainers subscribe to my blog this morning, and was wondering why.  Perhaps this was the reason.  Having people subscribe to my blog makes me smile even more.

So far... a very good Tuesday.  Thanks for your kind wishes... and you have a very good Tuesday, as well !

Hi Karen Anne - just wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog recently - I hadn't seen you for a while! Love the clip of Zooey and Joseph. Not sure if you remember (or heard of) the TV show Third Rock from the Sun? He was the kid on the show and was recently in the movie 50/50 (a humorous take on a sad subject). Cheers - and wishing you a wonderful and vibrant 2012!

Posted by Karen Hawkins, MBA - Langley & Surrey, BC (Royal Pro Real Estate Network) almost 9 years ago

Karen:  Sure I have heard of the TV show Third Rock from the Sun.  I watched it a few times, and just didn't think it was all that funny.  So... I only remember a very few of the characters in it, and not Joseph.

I have, I guess what you might call "different" taste in TV shows.  I often like stuff nobody else does, and often do NOT like or watch stuff that many people watch.

I loved Zooey, and AnnaSophia Robb and Josh Hutcherson in the movie "The Bridge to Terabithia."  I feared, with a title like that, it would be dorky, but it was really cute.  Sad at the end, but really, really cute... with good character development and interplay.

I have never liked... the Survivors shows, the "Wives of" shows, never saw or wanted to see the Kardashians, or really any of the "reality" shows.  Even going back to comedy shows like Seinfeld.  Honestly, I must have tried six times to watch that show all the way through to talk myself into liking it, but simply did not think it was funny.  I liked Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and also thought the Soup Nazi character was cute/funny, but that's about it.

Right now... I love "The Good Wife."  I make sure I watch it, DVR it, or watch it on the CBS website.  I used to love watching "House"... but since the two intern docs... Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Morrison left, and now that Lisa Edelstein's "Dr Cuddy" left... it has lost all of its character interplay... so, for me, why bother ?

Cheers to you, as well... (loved that show, by the way).  And... nice to see you here, too.
