Many Nights... Late at Night... I can usually be found at my "Blogging Desk." I have received many, many requests (one actually... LOL) for a photo of myself while creating the "missives" I send out into the blogosphere in the middle of the night. So, in response to all of those "pleadings" (actually, it's up to two now... my cat Mollie just emailed me)... here it is !
I have an artist working on creating a Fifteen Month calendar suitable for mounting in such places as offices, libraries, schools, churches, auto body shops and NTB Tire Stores. Once completed, I will have my marketing agent, Phyllis Diller's older, more attractive sister Hazel, start shopping the publishing houses in New York City... to find a suitable vehicle for mass distribution. Stay tuned for further information.

Hi Paula: Yes... Ms Blogger's calendars... once the artist is finished, and they come back from the printer...will be high on everyone's Christmas List I am sure. Why... NTB (National Tire and Battery) has pre-ordered several thousand. I can see them now... hanging proudly back in the tire-remounting area... right next to the 55 gallon drum of used motor oil. I feel so honored. LOL Thanks for your comment, Paula.
This was a funny post, Karen Anne. Maybe the next time I am in the Dallas area visiting my mom or attending a Cowboys game, we could grab lunch or a coffee.
Paul - I laughed out loud at your comments (too close to home)!
Love the pic! As soon as I clicked on your blog my first thought was "where did she find that clip art?" I knew it was too good to be true! I'll be checking you out regularly.
Hi Cynthia: Yes, I love the picture, too. You know how it goes... you look and look for something specific when you really need it... and nothing ! Then, just as things are going along normally, BOINGGG... there it is... out of nowhere. And I say to myself... "Wow, I need to save that. I just KNOW someday I'll have a use for that.
So, that's what this picture was. A friend of mine sent it to me about six months ago, and I just loved it. So... I saved it. Then, when I got the idea for this blog post one night in my office at about one in the morning... I knew I already had the perfect picture. So, that's how it happened. Cynthia... thanks for stopping by. I'll have to check out your postings, too. Take care... Karen Anne
PS... Cynthia: Today it is exactly one month since I joined Active Rain... so I'm just beginning to figure things out.
PPS... I started to submit this comment, and went to the "What does the graphic say? to type in the word, and today's word is "myrtle." And... my old, worn-out memory immediately went to... "Myrtle the Turtle and Flip the Frog... Lived on Lilly Pod Lane... " It's a childhood song I haven't thought of for perhaps fifty-five years. Things just turn up where they "turn up." No way to control it. So... there I have it... a new idea for my next blog post... LOL.
Jason: I just KNEW mentioning the new Cowboy's stadium would bring a comment from you. Would you like me to send you some pictures ?
Yes, as far as I know, it is scheduled to be open for the 2009 season. So... down boy, down boy. It's coming... keep yer shirt on... LOL.
By the way... what does a girl around here have to do to get a 5, or to get one of her posts featured ? LOL. Sheesh !
KAREN ANNE - I have written 87 posts so far, and 2 of them were featured, but one of them placed 3rd in Adam's contest. I have a number of posts that I felt were "feature-worthy", but they didn't make it. I just keep plugging away at it. As I mentioned in my post about "What Active Rain Can Do...", I am averaging 338 points per post on my non-Localism stuff now. I think it's just a matter of developing a bit of a following, then the word seems to get out.
Please post some photos of the new stadium if you have a chance. I would love to see them. I think I want to attend at least one more game at Texas Stadium just for nostalgia's sake.
Hi Susie: No, I don't look like that "all the time." Actually, I rarely look that good. I'm just a country girl from Cleveland, Ohio trying to make it in the "bright lights and city life" of Fort Worth, Texas.
I must admit, though, that there are some days I'd much rather be lying on a blanket on the beach at Longboat Key. Whaddya think ?
And, yes, I am usually in my PJ's or Nightgown when I am at my blogging desk. Thanks for your comment. I look forward to November and to actually chatting with you. Karen Anne
Hi, Mr Adam: Yes, it is lovely, thank you very much. I think I had Jose Ebert do my hair that day... can you recognize his "look?" So you can't wait to see the other 14 photos, huh... (she said, closing her eyes and trying to remember if she could ever remember being called "my little calendar girl !" Actually, I think that's a "first timer" for me. So... now where did I put my scrapbook ? LOL.
Will I be sending them out ? I guess it all depends if you want a personalized, autographed copy or not. And... marketing them at a kiosk during the holiday season... yer such a marketing genius. I can see it now... they would be right next to the copies of the Dean Martin Christmas Album.
There may be a problem, though. I just had a call from the printer. The first printing had to be cancelled. When they got to printing the Ms February picture, the printer went up in flames. Mayor Bloomberg had to call in the Haz-Mat Team. So, I might have to find another printer. Oy. <grin> Anyway, thanks for commenting.
Karen,
wonderful "photo" of you on missive point. Also want to thank you for taking your time to comment on our recent satire on O.J. and the news media. Right on! We completely agree with your comments, and particulary those that you mention should all be ashamed of themselves. But that would take some measure of conscience, now wouldn't it? Ane when it comes to that, these buffoons are all hat and no cattle.
Cheers...
Hi Bridget: Wow... a request. Requests are good. I will try and come up with a suitable Fairy Blogmother photo, but the most difficult part of that will be getting Jose Ebert in again to do my hair. He's booked very far in advance, you know. Actually, one point I try and get across in many of my posts... although I try and do it more subtly... is that Fort Worth IS such a great place to live.
I really have a very difficult time imagining just HOW any young couple just starting out... could ever buy a home in the great majority of the real estate markets around the country. Thanks for you comment, Bridget...
DANG! ActiveRain has removed many of the older blog post pictures. I missed it! :(((
