Question: Do I get any Points... for a Blog Post I wrote In my Sleep ?

It is now 5:58am Sunday Morning.  I just woke up..  Yeah.  I just woke up from DREAMING I was answering comments from a post I had written while I was ASLEEP.

Question:  Do we get any points from posts we write IN OUR SLEEP ?

I remember the dream.  Not much of a dream.  I was just responding to comment number 62... when I woke up.  Nothing special about the post... whatever it was about.  It's just that I was asleep.

I do remember that I Pushed the "Submit" Button on the post... and then off it went... into the Ethernet, on it's way to Active Rain.

And then the comments started coming.

In the dream... someone remarked in the comments... as they came rushing in... how cool it was that there were so many comments... and yet the post had NOT been featured.  Little did that commentor know that not only had the post he was commenting on ... not only had it not been "featured" yet.. but it had not even been WRITTEN yet.

Or at least it had not been written... except for it being written while I was sleeping.

Maybe I could make it into a movie.  No, Sandra Bullock already did that... While You Were Sleeping.

So... the question remains.  Do I get points for blog posts I write in my sleep ?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Note:  This post was written WITHOUT my contacts being in.  It won't get any graphics... unless I insert something after I really wake up... mostly cuz, as I said, my contacts are not in.  I'm lucky I was able to type well-enough... cuz I cannot see the keyboard... and even the type on the monitor is just a fuzzy blurr unless I put my nose up to it.

OK... done, I think.  Now... back to bed before I wake up so much... that I won't be able to get back to sleep.  Yikes !

PS... I know the time stamp says it is 7:14am... but it is really 6:14am here in Fort Worth.  Why it works that way, I have no clue.

Nighty night.

Karen, good morning. You're in trouble because now you have to get up twice.  I get up early but the actual getting up and out of bed is not a good thing. Leaving that warm comfy bed, now in the dark!

Now about those strange dreams you're having......

Hi Karen - The comments are starting to roll in whilst you sleep on this beautiful Sunday morning.

Good morning Karen - Some dreams are more real than others.  Hope you get 100s of comments on this and that you love the one from #62.

Karen, you need a sabbatical away from AR for awhile, as now you are crawling in bed with it.

We will all be wondering what comment #62 has to say. :)

Nurse, orderly, we have one over here testing positive for AR syndrome. Easy Miss...this will sting a little...

Believe Andrew hit the nail on the head!  Or is that your head?  In any event, just lie back and relax; it will be okay; you'll be back to your old self in just a few days.

I use to dream about blog posts. Not so much anymore. It was in the early days of Activerain, when I first started blogging.

Now don't hold your breath for those virtual points.

Hmmm, Karen, I do believe you get points for writing blogs in your sleep.  Proof are in some of my blogs where it is obvious I wrote them in some type of coma :)!  Can't wait to hear what #62 is gonna say.  I will park the blog just to check it out!

You should get bonus points for posts you write in your sleep.  I guess that's the next level of addiction...sleep blogging.

Karen Ann, Way too funny and yes I dream about things like that too, no blog dreams yet.  I do hope you get to comment 62, I am going to suggest for a feature!

I thought you said that blogging wasn't about the points, and yet aren't points fun?

I know there's a group late night and early morning, but let's not get into dream blogging as a group.  I've had some pretty whacky dreams, and frankly some of that stuff just shouldn't be shared.

Karen Anne - another amusing post. I wish I could get credit for all of the things I do in my sleep. On Thursday night, I created an uploaded an entire website (it took a little bit longer in the real world). LOL

Yes, I think you will get the points--not for the dream but for writing about it.

P.S.  You're not the only one who writes posts while still asleep or under some other influence--yours actually makes perfect sense--some I've seen--not so much...

Wallace:  I was always under the impression that when eating french fries... if you only ate the middle of them, and did not eat the ends... that's where the calories were.  They wouldn't lie to me, would they ?

What they need to do is invent something that is not calorie-free... but actually ANTI-caloric.  That would bean that whatever you ate... not only would there be NO calories in that... but that food would actually EAT UP some of the calories you had eaten previously.

Example... if you wanted to lose ten pounds... you would go out, and buy ten pounds of Krispy Kreme donuts.  Let's guess that each donut weighs four ounces.  So... eat four donuts... 4 x four ounces = 16 ounces = one pound.  Eat four donuts... lose one pound.  It works for me.

Eric:  There were nineteen comments waiting.  That was more than enough.  I would much rather have nineteen comments from folks that HAVE commented... than one hundred comments from folks who only came and commented because they saw it got featured.  Quality bests quantity... any day of the week.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) over 7 years ago

Charles:  Yes, you are so correct.  I hate getting up... and now, because of going back to sleep... I have to get up TWICE today.  Grrrr.  And... if these are the worst kinds of dreams I will be having... it's really not all that bad.  Dreams could always be worse... but I won't go there... on THIS post.  Maybe another post at another time.  Have a great week.

Jackie:  I don't think we will come close to 62.  I DO think we will hit forty, though.  So... watch the numbers, and make sure you return.  Did they teach dream analysis at Lindenhurst High ?  <smile>

Marc:  Actually, we got to 19 comments... so with my responses, we will at least end up at 38.  Not bad for a dream.

And yes, whilst I sleep.  To sleep, perchance to dream.  If only I could dream my favourite dream.  That would be nice.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) over 7 years ago

Valerie:  Indeed, some dreams ARE more real than others.  And, I don't need tons of comments.  Nineteen good comments from 19 good people is just fine.  What more could a girl dream of?  Much better than 100 comments from folks who are just there cuz the post got a Gold Star.

Also... I checked the map.  Are you anywhere near St Marc sur Le Richelieu ?  Last time I went to Quebec city, I stayed at a little bed'n'breakfast there... right on the river.  Might you know where I am talking about ?

Don:  Yes... a sabbatical would be nice.  Hmmm... I just noticed... and see that the root word of sabbatical... is the word "sabbat."  Very interesting... to me, at least.

I will be going on a road trip of sorts in about a week.  Driving from Fort Worth to Cleveland on Monday, Oct 11th.  I should be there Tuesday night.  Have friends to visit, some folks I have been wanting to see, a sister and a brother who will probably not have time for me... (long story)... and probably visit with perhaps four or five Active Rainers I have gotten to know during the past two or three years here.

Judy:  I don't think there will be a comment number sixty-two.  But I am very glad there is a comment #8.  <smile>  As I said above, I would much rather have nineteen good comments from nineteen good people, than 100 comments... many of which due to getting a Gold Star.  Quality over quantity.  Have a great week.

Andrew:  Very, very cute.  Made me smile.  Yes... nurse... over here, puhleeze.  That AR syndrome will get you every time.  And yes... this Miss knows it's going to sting... if only a little.  Cute comment... thank you so much.  Have a great Maine week !

Tish:  I have hit my head many times.  After awhile... it just gets numb.  Or is that "dumb ?"  I dunno.  Yes, lying back and resting... and relaxing.  But oh, if it only COULD be okay.

My old self.  You wish my OLD self on me ?  I would rather have some sort of NEW self.  Or at least a few new pieces to fit INTO the old self.  But, I digress.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) over 7 years ago

Missy:  I don't know where that dream came from.  Perhaps it was the ice cream I had before I went to sleep.  And... not into points and comments any more.  As I said above, I would much rather have nineteen good comments from nineteen good people.  Thank you so much for being one of them.

And... noper... no holding my breath for points going on here.  Have a great week.  I hope Christa and Bob are doing well.  Any word on them ?  Or, are they still on some sort of extended honeymoon ?

I would say blogging in your sleep signals a more deeper problem !! You are totally addicted to Active Rain ! Which really isn't hard.. Its fun and it allows your creativity to come out ! Even if some don't understand it... I totally enjoy your personality which shines in your blogs !!

Yes, you get points, but only when you are asleep. The problem is soon as you wake up they seem to disappear, but I've been watching your account and they are there right now, hopefully they will be there in the morning. But, from the looks of yesterday, they seemed to disappear about the time you woke up. (ROFL)
