This is Mollie T. About a week ago, My Mother, Karen Anne Stone , wrote a post about me. I'm "the baby," I'm the kitty cat... Mollie T. The post she wrote was titled Let Sleeping Cats Lie... If You Know What's Good For You... .
If you saw that post... you know how hard I was trying to thaw out. I was THIS CLOSE... to being frozen from the nearly Arctic temperatures my Mother keeps... in "her" apartment.
Well... what poor me thought could NEVER get worse... Did ! My mother, as some of you may know, has been living in a cramped one-bedroom apartment since her two bedroom apartment was FLOODED... several months ago.
Things have recently gotten worse... as can be seen from this picture: I am Being Held Captive !
That warm spot... right in front of the balcony door... was the ONLY spot I could go to... to try and get warm. Do you have any clue what a twelve-pound kitty cat looks like or feels like, when she is shivering totally out-of-control ?
My silly Cat-Mother... has this printer. And... this place is so crammed with stuff... that the only place should SHE could figure out to put this printer-stand... was RIGHT in my warm spot.
I have tried to tell her... I really have. I even have some music... Rescue Me , playing in the background. She doesn't get it. I am freezing. And she stole my "warm spot." Please... help ! Just what's an adorable kitty-cat to do ?
Silly cat. Go find the clothes for ironing pile. Warm and Cozy ...
Hey Mollie T, if you can get to it, check out the top of the refrigerator. That always gets nice and warm...and if your mommy has stuff stacked up there, well just gently push it off. Then of course there is always the bed. I bet there are some nice covers you can snuggle under.
Wait, I just noticed mom has an "easy" button in one of those drawers over your head. Break in there, push it and you and mom will have a spacious apartment and all the warmth you want (mulit-zone climate control of course.)
Ooo, I like Kristen's suggestion, then again the freshly dried clothes are a good option as well. When all else fails, lay directly across her keyboard and refuse to move......she'll probably get you your very own heat lamp then ;-)
Royce @ Devan Realty: What... you think my mother actually IRONS ? Silly person. But, funny you should mention a clothes basket. Ten years ago, when my Mommy Karen Anne first adopted me... I WAS actually sleeping in a laundry basket of the sellers on one of her listings. These sellers both played in the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra... and had two cats and two dogs, and needed to either farm them out or give them away while their home was up for sale.
So... great idea. It was one of my favorite spots, way back then.
Kristen: Yeah, sure... gently push it off. Mom heard that, and is over on the sofa... giggling. Of course, as she giggles, she has that darn back-scratcher thingie nearby. You know... the one she waves at me and threatens me with ?
Hey... that's the ticket ! The EASY button. Now why didn't I think of that.
But, until then... I think I'm gonna start laying out plans to get myself to the top of the fridge. That'll fix 'er. Maybe she'll get all worried when she can't find me... and promise to keep it warmer in her. I doubt it, though. :(
Colleen: Yeah... warm clothes. But our clothes dryer does not dry our clothes... it thaws them out. Nothin' worse than frozen laundry. And I already tried that "lay down on the keyboard" thingie. She just gets out that hand-squirter... and I get skeered and run. Been there, tried that... LOL.
I got an idea. I heard about your great first video you did... so long ago. Mom let me watch it. Maybe you could do another video... talk to my silly Mother... and straighten her out ? Whaddya think ? Oh Puhleeze. Kitty Puhleeze !
Hi Karen Anne,
Mollie T is adorable... I bet you can have lots of fun with her!!! I love my 3 kitties also... ;>))
Hi Mollie T... Mr. Sniffles told me that he would notify his friend (and new admirer) Steve Noviello of Fox 4 News of your plight. He may be able to contact your mom and work out a solution.
Ann-Marie: Nice to see you ! And Mollie T thanks you for the compliment. But... we're not going to let you get away THAT easily. You have three kitties. Well, but Mollie T and I want to know their names, their coloring, and more. Come on now... be a good CatMother... and share.
And yes... Mollie and I are great snugglers. And... she is a great subject for Active Rain posts. She gives me some great photo opportunities. So... let's have the names, Missy ! Take care... have a great week. Hope things are well in St John, NB. By the way... with you being so close to the water in St John Harbour or Courtenay Bay... do you go out much on it, or is it too cold ?
Steve: Ah yes. A diplomatic solution is always much better than declaring war. I agree. But, you know her. She has her own ways of doing things... doncha know. But... just knowing that Mr Sniffles is thinking about me is very comforting. :)
Cute kitty...
Mary Lou: Ahhh... another woman of few words. Well... I thank you, and Mollie T thanks you, as well.
So who's really the boss? LOL
Janice: Who do YOU think is really the boss ? Let me put it this way. Dogs have owners... cats have staff. Does that answer your question ? <smile>
Super cute! They always seem to find some place that we humans often overlook and make it seem like the most comfortable place on earth.
