Sometimes certain songs are played, sung or celebrated only at certain times during the year. Often-times the prettiest of these are saved for the "holidays." For me, that means Christmas, sometimes Thanksgiving, and maybe even New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Why many of these songs are sequestered into these particular time-spots can appear to be rather logical. Many of them ARE "holiday" songs.
But there are others of these songs... these celebratory or plaintive songs... that can be, may be, or even should be sung all the year through. If only the theme requested, hoped for, or even prayed for by the above song... Let There Be Peace On Earth... could be seen by more than myself... as something to be celebrated all year 'round... how truly wonderful that would be.
Very nice!
What a beautiful clip to share with us. I agree that it should be a year long song.
Lynda and Wayne: It is much more than the sound of heaven. If somehow each of us could carry this message everywhere we went... this WOULD be heaven.
Karen..I am very eclectic..sometimes I may be in the classical music mood ....sometimes hard rock and roll ...sometimes ..rap.. this song is beautiful for right now ...thank you very much

Good evening Karen Anne,
Thanks for sharing..what an extradionary clip! I agree with Ellie should be a year long song!!
Robert: It woud be SO very nice... if somehow this could come true. Just imagine what the world would be like.
Ellie: The first time I heard this being performed... I just sat there and cried and cried. Hopeful tears, to be sure... but cry I did.
To All: I whole-heartedly suggest that each of us bookmark this post, and play this song as often as our hearts allow, and as many times as it take for us to bring about peace.
Hannah: Eclectic, huh ? Well... I just couldn't find the version of this song by Pearl Jam... so this one had to do. This song is surely "beautiful" for right now... but even more so... it is "perfect" for right now, no matter what day it is.
Dorie: For sure... this song should be a "year long" song... and if only the sentiment of Letting There Be Peace On Earth could be a year long thought. Now that I have posted this, and listened to it so many times tonight... I will have cold chills all night long.
This was great, thank you for posting. Such an unexpected treat.
Rob: Unexpected treats are very nice. What an even nicer treat it would be if somehow we all could live the message that these young people in the above chorale are bringing to us. Thanks for the kind words...
Denise: "Mary Did You Know" is just an awesome song. I remember singing it years ago when I led my own liturgical musical group at the church where I taught junior high in the parish school. It is a beautiful song, indeed.
It is never "out of season" to listen to such beautiful music as these. And... you are very, very welcome !
Hi Karen Anne .. this is one of my most favorite songs.. It is enchanting.. it's message is so simple, yet it seems so difficult to achieve. I think it should be sung at least once a day by everyone! Let there be peach on earth.. and we can all start by doing something to promote more peace and understanding, rather than all the divisiveness and negativity we have seen recently!
Steve: Even finding peace in one little corner of each of our worlds would be such a wonderful thing. And... what a great place to start a world-wide movement. Peace to you, My Friend. Shalom.
Joan: Yes... it's one of my favorite songs as well. And, your choice of the word "enchanting" is just about perfect. Especially the way these young people sing it.
It would be so amazing if each of us could somehow put this song, and the thoughts of peace that it brings with it... into the front of our mind's eye each day. Imagine how looking through a prism of peace each day... imagine how that could change things.
Ahh yes... Imagine. Another great song by Mr Lennon. May he as well be at peace.
Karen Anne - I was just getting ready to call it a night when I came across your post. My 7 year old granddaughter sang this song at her Christmas play this past December and brought the house down and me in tears. This song is so beautiful and has always held a special meaning to me. Listening to it again I have to run and and get a tissue. :)
Good morning Karen Anne, such a wonderful song, great way to start my day! You are so right, it should not be limited to Christmas time.
That is a refreshing post, Thank you!
I hope you have a great day Karen Anne,
Paul
What a wonderful way to start Thursday morning. Thanks Karen Anne.....it brings such a calm, peacful feeling to the day!
Donna: I am so glad this was able to bring back such a sweet memory of your granddaughter. What a wonderful vision to have in your mind's eye right before you drift off to dreamland. Tears of joy, and tears of peace, I am sure.
Esperanza: There are so many times when our souls need to be fed... actually, need to be "nourished" much more than our tummies do. I am so glad you feel inspired. Actually, if my memory serves me well... I think your beautiful name Esperanza means "hope..." and what a hopeful message this song brings with it. Take care...
Andrea: To limit this hopeful song to the Christmas season would be so sad... but then again, the gift of hope, the gift of peace, should be a gift we both give and receive all year 'round.
Paul: That is one of my purposes in life here... to bring a refreshing slant to your life. Just another one of my duties as Queen... LOL.
Ms Banana: Yes, this is an excellent way to start a Thursday. Calm and peaceful. Mmmm... the world of today can use more than a couple of extra helpings of that... as I am sure you will agree. Have a great Thursday.
Hi Karen Anne, what a beautiful thought and song to keep in our hearts today, and everyday :-) I like John Lennon's "Imagine" too. Thanks for the post, I hope you have a terrific, peaceful day.
Mary: Peace. I don't know if I am remembering correctly... but wasn't that the way Dave Garroway used to end his shows a long, very long time ago ? Yes... what a wonderful thought for ALL of us to keep within our hearts. Funny thing about peace. It's kind of like love. The more of it we give away... the more of it we receive in return.
You are very welcome, Miss Mary. You have a terrific and peaceful day as well.
