I must admit... being a Nice Catholic Girl from Cleveland... that there are times in this life when "turning the other cheek" is simply the right thing to do.
Now... although that may be the case for me, my cat Mollie T does not always share this same philosophy.
You see... Miss Mollie T... being the cat of her "cat-mother"... that would be ME... Miss Mollie T does not always do what others might choose.
Mollie T... being the kitty cat that she is... very much prefers to have her own way.
When she does NOT get her own way... she not only "turns her other cheek"... she turns BOTH of them. You end up with the RUMP end of things... and it stays that way until Miss Mollie T is good and ready to do otherwise.
This is Miss Mollie T. And that... the portion of her cute cat-body that is facing you... and me... is what happens when Mollie T... turns HER other cheek. You get both of them.
You have now been warned !
-----------------------
Note: A request has been made... to see Mollie T's cute lil face. Here she is... a close-up... with her guarding my HP printer. She's a great guard-cat.
By the way... Mollie T has told me that other pictures of her are available by request... LOL. For a slight fee, she then added. It figures.
I would pick her up, grab her paws, roll her on her back, and say "Who's in charge now?" while she nibbles my nose ;-)
Looks like Molly just needs a nice scratch on the rump. I'd love to see her cute face.
I can see the attitude in that picture. : ) Cats are so funny.
Never met a cat that didn't have this attitude. All three of mine think their way is the ONLY way.
She likes giving you the silent treatment too, huh Karen Anne? On the weekends, if I'm not up quick enough for Hiway, she will come up on the bed and turn around, putting her backside near my face as a message that she wants to be fed...if she only knew how much more her other side is appreciated!
so cute. My Marci knows when I am upset with her. She will cringe but she won't give in right away.
Karen Anne: If that's what Mollie T does when she's miffed with you, I shudder to think what she would do to the Pope. Is she declawed?
Christianne: Mollie T would definitely let you pick her up... and you could probably do whatever you wanted to her... for awhile. Then... she would start "growling." She would not do anything... but would definitely growl enough to make you think she would. And sorry... she is not a "nose-nibbler." No nibbles, no kissies, but lots of purring. She just loves to cuddle, and loves to sit on my tummy or by my side while I am watching "The Good Wife."
Katie: Yes... Mollie T DOES like to have her rump scratched. Or, just about ANY part scratched. Strangely enough, she is the only cat I have ever known who loves to have me scratch... or actually "rub" with the pads of my thumbs... the insides of her ears. Not just the tips, but decently far in. Amazing.
Chris and Rhiannon: Uh huh... she has some attitude... but just at times. She is much more of a cuddler and a snuggler... but ONLY... when SHE wants to. Typical girl... she is. :)
Tammy: Yes Ma'am. Mollie likes to make the rules, or likes me to make sure I allow her to THINK she makes the rules. Yes... it must be her way. But... she actually know just-how-far she can push me. Smart kittie.
Wanda: Oh absolutely... she loves giving the "silent treatment." Except when she wants to "talk." She can be very, very vocal. She will "talk" to me... and we can go back and forth... with each of us meowing... for maybe six, seven or eight exchanges... or more. Very talkative kittie.
I just absolutely LOVE the name your cat has allowed you to give to her. Hiway ! Awesome. She is very original. And hey, I know that you do not fully appreciate having her back-side up to your nose... but she could do worse things with it, you know... LOL. But, then again, if she did that... she sure as heck would probably not get fed the entire day. Whew ! Again... very cute name.
Angelia: Cool. Marci catches on quickly, huh ? Sometimes they do that... but often they don't let you know about it. It's good she doesn't give in right away. She is trying very hard not to spoil you.
Chris Ann: Mollie T has here back claws. I had the front ones done... with a laser years ago. What a great technique that was. Almost instant recovery. And... with her having back claws... she has NEVER clawed anything. She is a great little girl.
About the Pope. I asked Mollie T... who, by the way, is also a "fallen away Cat-lick"... I asked her what she would do to "His Holiness." Without hesitation... she said she would pee in his cute little red Prada slippers. She just went on and on about it... telling me how soggy those lil Pradas would be. She also wondered if he had a matching purse to go with them. I told her that I did not know, but that you might. Any ideas ?
I have 2 cats and they are the funniest creatures. I love the "cheek" comment.
Karen: There truly are times when a pair of cats can be better than having cable. And yes... Mollie T DOES give new meaning to the expression "turn the other cheek." Have a great week !
By the way... what are your two kitties names ?
Karen Anne, I have one kittie who is always turning the other cheek, she is always staring into a corner. She is not all there though. Her name is Stevie. I have a pile of kitties, not because I wanted a pile though, my kind heart backfired on me and now, no help.
We have Pete, Garfield, Stevie, Larry and Malish.
Dear Karen-Anne. You are the funnest cat lady that I know. (Is "funnest" a word?)
Good evening Karen Anne,
Wow now Molly T looks like she does have an attitude! Great shots and love the post ..cat lady!
That's a great close up. My cat won't let me take a close up of her face. I'll have to show her Mollie T's and see if she will allow me to now. :)
Andrea: That is one boatload of kitties. How do you manage... I mean really ? Hmmm... a kittie who is always staring into a corner. Sheesh. She sounds about as nutty as I am. Actually... and I just thought of this... actually, if she just sits there and stares... that would make her "cat-atonic !" What a concept... a catatonic cat. I like it !
And... the heart just cannot control itself when it comes to being a cat-mother.
Ellie: Sure... of course "funnest" is a word. You just made it up. I make up words all the time... so... as the Queen... I do hereby bestow upon you the title of Word Maker-Upper. Consider yourself Royalty ! And Ellie, thanks for the kind words. Funnest... is a good thing.
Dorie: Uh huh. Mollie T "looks" like she has an attitude. But... it's all an act. She is just very, very good... at being Mollie T Cat. Thanks for your kind words... I enjoy being my own kind of cat-lady.
Ricki: Mollie T is great as far as letting me take close-ups. She is fine with anything... picture-wise. She sometimes just sits... looking kinda/sorta gargoyle-like. It is part of what she does... Mollie T the gargoyle guard cat. And yes... show your own lil kittie Mollie T's picture... and maybe she will get the hint ! :)
Karen
Mollit T sure look just like our cat Lilly Bean....kind of like they just stuck their heads into a bucket of paint...lol.
She has that look of don't-mess-with-me-I'll-scratch-your-eyes-out-in-your-sleep-if-you're-not-careful look about her. But otherwise sweet as can be. ;-)
Hello Karen - Just what the world needs......another cat with attitude. Our cat Calli acts the same way. Have a great day.
Karen Anne, Miss Mollie T is too cute no matter what view we get of her!
Trey: Hmmm... trying to imagine Mollie T with her head in a bucket of paint. No paint, but she DOES like to stick her lil head under a stream of running water while standing in the kitchen sink. I will have to find a picture of her doing that... and do another post on it.
Michael: Miss Mollie T is not the scratch-your-eyes-out kinda girl. More like the stand-in-the-sink-and-get-soaked-and-then-come-and-shake-her-head-in-your-face kinda girl. You need to see it to believe it.
Andy: Mollie T brings joy into just about every one of my days. She is a dear, and this woman (me) needs a snuggler... so Mollie has a job for life. You have a great day as well !
Susan: Yes, she sure is a cutie. There are days, however, when she is in the first pose on this page, and has just had dinner... that you may wish that end of her was not pointing in your direction. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, she gets her point across. I know... too much information, here. Sorry... LOL.
Yeah, cats have a tendency to do their own thing and be pretty moody. Can you tell I'm a dog person?
Carissa: And... if you look at it from a cat-person's viewpoint... dog people often have a tendency to do their own thing, and be pretty moody. That's why they have dogs. Dogs will usually put up with just about anybody... LOL.
Hi Karen Anne... I love your posts about Miss Mollie! One of these days I will have to come meet her (after I take my Zyrtec)!
Karen Anne, I often get that rump. I just let made Calvin come in and he is giving me the rump right now. I also have my grand kitty who lives with us as our daughter travels the world and she often gives me the rump. They own the house we just live here.
Steve: Miss Mollie T would welcome the chance to meet you. I have told her all about you, and she is alread a fan of yours. Perhaps I could bring her with me and we could meet for lunch. :)
Marchel: Those of us who are privileged to have cats in our lives just know the feeling of being presented with the kitty-rump. Now... they won't "present" that part of their anatomy to just anyone... so I am sure you feel duly honored. And, how cool that you can, at times, have your grand kitty with you.
You are most surely correct in saying that they own the house, and you just live there. I have often heard that while dogs have owners, cats have "staff."
Don't get her mad, cats can and do hold grudges and they do plot revenge and will get you when you least expect it.
Todd: I have also heard that in certain parts of the country... perhaps even in the Pacific North Wet... relatives of deceased Easter Bunnies ALSO plot revenge. You heard anything about that ? <silly grin>
Hi Karen Anne,
What a cute post and photos of Miss Mollie T! Love the kitty rump shot! Thanks for the smile!
Rita
Rita: You are very welcome. There's nothing quite like a cute kitty-rump photo to bring a smile to a cat-person's face. Mollie T says Meow... by the way. :)
